Water Gremlin has started collaborating with partners on two projects to benefit public health and the environment. The first project is planting and maintaining 1,500 trees in public areas in White Bear Township, White Bear Lake and Gem Lake. Planting will occur fall 2019 through 2021. We will share details about the locations and types of trees that will be planted as this project moves forward.
The second project is a collaboration with the University of Minnesota on an education and outreach program for manufacturers that use trichloroethylene (TCE). TCE is a solvent mainly used to degrease metal parts and is also an ingredient found in household materials such as adhesives, paint removers and spot cleaners. The goal of the project is to reduce the use of TCE by manufacturers. We are partnering with the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program through 2022 to identify the best opportunities for these reductions.
